Carbon Capture Solutions

We specialise in the financing of carbon capture solutions for anaerobic digestion plants. We focus on the implementation of tried and tested technologies with a high level of efficiency both in respects of the final liquefied CO2 product and the power required to process the flue gas.

“We can create a more sustainable, cleaner and safer world by making wiser energy choices”

EASY INTEGRATION

CCO2s CO2 capture systems that can easily be integrated with any plant currently processing their biogas into biomethane. Our CO2 capture systems are suitable for the capture from biomethane produced from all forms of biomass and wastes from all types of existing and new biogas plants.

RELIABLE

CCO2 applies proven best-in-class carbon capture technology that achieves over 97% operational availability. The biogas upgrading system provides optimal purification, has a robust design, has an advanced control system and benefits from the assurance of 24/7 service support.

CO2 RECOVERY

A CCO2 CO2 recovery unit can be integrated with a biogas upgrading system from any manufacturer. The CO2 that is removed from the biogas can then be recovered and liquefied to produce food-grade CO2, creating an extra source of revenue for the plant owner.

CCO2 Renewables systems are available in a variety of sizes and configurations with capacities from 40 Nm3/hr of in-going biogas.

The system is easy to integrate with both existing and new plants and is expandable with CO2 recovery and/or CNG compression modules.

By applying highly efficient membranes the separation of methane from biogas can reach an efficiency of more than 99.5%.

Our Funding Process

Our priority is to fund AD based carbon capture projects that can have a benefit to both the economy and environment

Biogas To Liquid CO2

This is how we do it
1. FILTER

First, the CO2 goes to the activated carbon filter to remove impurities.

2. COMPRESSOR

After the filter, the CO2 is compressed in a non lubricated two stage process compressor.

3. DRYER

The filtered gas passes through an automatic molecular sieve dryer to completely remove the moisture.

4. CONDENSER

The purified gas is sent to the CO2 liquefier; traces of non condensable gases still contained in the CO2 remain gaseous while the CO2 condenses in the liquefier.

5. STRIPPING COLUMN

Any entrained non-condensables such as oxygen, methane and nitrogen are effectively removed in the stripping column.

6. PURE LIQUID CO2

The pure liquid CO2 flows to an insulated storage tank.

CO2 Utilisation

CO2 is currently used in a variety of commercial operations around the world and the potential applications from the CO2 produced through Anaerobic Digestion range from the food & beverage industry, to the manufacturing of cement & aggregate products, to the production of dry ice for scientific experiments.

Food & Beverages - CO2 is a key cryogenic agent in cooling, chilling and freezing applications. This protects the taste and texture of food products by maintaining temperature control. CO2 also reduces the need of preservatives in packaged products and is the essential ingredient for fizz in your carbonated beverages.

Construction Materials - CO2 can be used to “cure” cement, or in the manufacture of aggregates. Doing so stores some CO2 for the long term and could displace emissions-intensive conventional cement. With accelerating global urbanisation, we estimate a utilisation and storage potential of 0.1-1.4GtCO2 in 2050
